Polarizing as they may be, micro miniskirts are here to stay. While on tour in Australia, Dua Lipa experimented with the viral low-rise trend in an off-duty look. In an Instagram shared on Nov. 14, the “Future Nostalgia” singer wore a denim micro miniskirt with a unique belt detail from Diesel’s Fall 2022 collection.

She paired the infamous mini with a gray off-the-shoulder ribbed top to match, as well as cherry-red, knee-high boots. Elsewhere in the carousel post, the low rise on the Y2K-inspired bottoms offered a peek at Lipa’s white thong, which had “dua” written across the back in cursive font. A bright red lip, gold necklace, and a red ring finished the trendy look. She shared other striking outfits in the post, including a lime-green and brown sweater with cutouts all over, as well as a pink fishnet dress with Patrick Star nipple pasties and a matching pink thong.

Since Miu Miu declared the return of super-short hemlines with its spring 2022 runway, celebrities and designers have quickly embraced the micro mini. On the cover of Perfect magazine’s 03 issue, Nicole Kidman wore a dramatic “tire”-style wrap skirt — essentially just a strip of leather — off of Diesel’s fall 2022 runway, the same collection Lipa’s skirt comes from.

Lipa regularly takes bold, nostalgic trends for a spin. Earlier in November, she dressed in a sheer blouse with dramatic lace-up detailing and leggings in the same floral print from London-based label KNWLS. She went sultry for Halloween as well, wearing a two-piece racing suit from Givenchy.

Take a closer look at Lipa’s styling ahead, and shop similar denim skirts if you’re interested in hopping on the trend yourself.
