HBO premiered a documentary series titled, Love Has Won: The Cult of Mother God, on November 13, 2023. This three-part series focuses on the life and death of Amy Carlson.
Love Has Won is a cult founded by the departed, Amy Carlson. According to CBS News, Carlson founded Love Has Won in 2006. Carlson aka Lia claimed that she was 19 billion years old. Furthermore, she even claimed that at one point in her life, she lived as Jesus.
She grew up in Dallas, Texas, and was a brilliant student. However, in the 2000s, her interest in New Age philosophy deepened. After meeting Amerith WhiteEagle, she was convinced that she was divine. In 2007, she left her family and job. Soon, she moved to Colorado to be with WhiteEagle.
Officials discovered her mummified corpse on April 28, 2021. She was 45 years old at the time of her death. According to the New York Post, her body was discovered wrapped in a green sleeping bag. Furthermore, her eyes were missing and her face had glitter makeup. Her body was being used as a makeshift shrine. Someone outside the group last saw her alive on April 10, 2021. According to her autopsy report, she died due to alcohol abuse, anorexia, and colloidal silver dosing.
